About Mauritius

The Eye Clinic proudly serves not only the local population but also patients who come from the wider Indian Ocean region.  We understand that patients who come from abroad have more complex needs. To live up to providing personalised, world-class care beyond geographical barriers, we recognise two categories of patients: 

Our favourites. We know that continuity of care makes an enormous difference to patient satisfaction.  A formal referral allows a discussion about management options before the journey begins. Postoperative follow-up, when required, can be safely handed over to the referring colleague. Travel and accommodation can be easier to plan.

We are always very happy to look after self-referring patients. However, we cannot commit to a treatment plan, provide an estimate of the cost, or advise on duration of stay without first having undertaken a full examination. For self-referrals, we recommend a non-committal consultation at The Eye Clinic upon arrival in Mauritius.
